Governor's Scholar Program

The Governor's Scholars Program strives to enhance Kentucky's next generation of civic and economic leaders. Established in 1983, the program provides academic and personal growth through the balance of a strong liberal arts and sciences program with a full co-curricular and residential life experience. Students must complete an application and compete with others from across the state. Those selected attend the program free of charge.

Governor's School for the Arts

GSA auditions & reviews the Commonwealth’s most promising high school sophomores and juniors in nine different arts disciplines: Creative Writing, Dance, Design (formerly known as Architecture + Design), Drama, Film + Photography, Instrumental Music, Musical Theatre, Visual Art and Vocal Music. While GSA historically took place over the course of three weeks in late June and early July, beginning in 2022, we now offer two separate three-week sessions, in the last three weeks of June and the last three weeks of July.

Governor's School for Entrepreneurs

Kentucky was one of the first states in the nation to create a Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs. Since our first class of 49 high school students in 2013, we have grown to more than 900 graduates, and now have high school and collegiate level programming. Our intensive, inspirational three-week program for high schoolers. We care about your grit, not your GPA. Develop lifelong entrepreneurial skills and kickstart your own success story – for free.

Commonwealth Honors Academy

The Commonwealth Honors Academy is a three-week academic enrichment experience held every June on Murray State University’s main campus in Murray, KY. You’ll live on campus while you take college-level honors classes and participate in fun activities and seminars to help you grow personally and socially.
